A young woman, Thyra, lies in her bed at night recalling memories of past meetings with men while feeling in an erotic mood. In these past experiences she is a dominator as much as she experiences being dominated through sexual abuse. Her sexuality is connected to deep trauma, anger and fear, and we follow her search for inner peace and calmness. This is a poetic meditation on the complexity of sexuality and how desire can linger between pleasure and trauma. The film is anchored in a young woman’s experience with sex and her longing for inner peace. I want to depict sexual anger connected to sexual abuse from a female perspective because a lot of women experience sexual abuse, and these experiences manifests a sense of being connected to a fear of and anger towards men. This film depicts these experiences and emotions connected to sexual trauma and a longing for peace through an abstract and poetic cinematic language.
