SOL.AR.IS

An art project inspired by the science-fiction novel entitled “Solaris” written by Stanisław Lem, created in the form of a mobile application using Augmented Reality technology. SOL.AR.IS is a virtual space where the spectator has the opportunity to interact in real time with ephemeral, virtual 3D objects inspired by the creations of the cytoplasmic, intelligent ocean that covers the planet Solaris – mimoids, symmetries or asymmetries, fantastic phenomena described in the novel. Each object is accompanied by a quote from Stanisław Lem’s book, which was an inspiration for the creating process.

Elwira Wojtunik, Popesz Csaba Láng (PL)
Elwira Wojtunik and Popesz Csaba Láng are internationally recognised Polish-Hungarian duo of digital artists known as Elektro Moon Vision, working at the intersection of creative computing and light-art, creating interactive multimedia installations and augmented reality art projects, animations, scenography projections and creative multimedia programming designed for museums and galleries, theatres and concerts. Their works were presented at significant international digital media art exhibitions and events around the world, including the TADAEX in Tehran, in Iran, ~PdCon in New York, ISEA in RPA, Museums Quartier in Vienna, New Media Art Biennale WRO in Wroclaw, Akarenga Soko Gallery in Yokohama, Japan. In Krakow, where they are based, their works could be seen at the Unsound Festival and Gallery Europe-Far East of Manggha Japanese Art and Technology Museum. Re-Kreacja, an interactive mapping installation, is included in the collection of Contemporary Art Gallery Bunkier Sztuki in Krakow, Poland. They were granted with the Creative Scholarship of the City of Krakow, Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Poland, MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, the Japanese OMOSIROI award for innovation and the ArtMuse award in Bocholt, Germany.
